Tegan and Sara fans across the globe. (aka my mom and and my friends from Calgary),
IT'S HOCKEY SEASON!!!! and last night Emy, Ted and I went to the Montreal-Edmonton game sporting the new T and S merchandise. There are some really amazing new designs up that even we were eager to sport in public so go check it out.
They are the usual rad, amazing, one of a kind designs made especially for Tegan and Sara by ee storey design. As always they are printed on American Apparel and loved, fawned over and touched by Tegan and Sara. I even used the Black Hockey Hoodies as my bed/nest here in Montreal.
Find them here… www.maplemusic.com .
I haven't written in a while mainly because Sara rented me an apartment without Internet so I don't often get online these days. I see Sara told you all about how we are using Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cutie to make our new record. I'm thrilled about this. I'd like to project that we are making the best record of our career. (not to be confused with the best record ever, because we aren't, who are we kidding?). There are a ton of other special guests and friends playing on the record and I am just aching to get going. Only 2 more months...
A few other notes before I check back into music jail...
First, Northern State just finished their new record. Sprout sent me it all and I freaked the F out. I'm not sure when its going to come out but I think all of you are going to lose your S*** when you hear it. So keep your eye on their myspace page. ( www.myspace.com/northernstate).
Second, I went and saw the Dixie Chicks movie twice this week. Its called Shut up and Sing and honestly it is probably one of the most interesting and amazing documentaries I have ever seen. I wish/hope everyone would go see it. I could fill this space with insightful suggestions and comments about the state of the world, politics, the war in Iraq, music in general etc but instead I'll just say this, Natalie, will you marry me? Or can I babysit your kids? Anything..you're a genius and you made my heart thump. I even "almost cried" the second time I saw it. Which is big for me since I am usually a "freak out and sob" kind of crier so I tend to keep it to private spaces. Anyhoo, thank god for the f-ing Dixie Chicks. I ordered a poster for over my bed. I HOPE that at some point in our lives that we can stand up for what we believe in in a way that impacts so many people from all over the world. Good for you guys.
Third, last night, when we saw the Montreal game against Edmonton where there were 3 full on fights. (which we all secretly loved but we made comments like, "oh..thats too bad...what has hockey come to...etc" after the game so we didn't seem so barbaric and shallow). Then we watched the CNN coverage of the House and Senate election. Um, we're still watching and we have our fingers crossed. Nice job on getting out and voting those that did.
And lastly a special goodbye to Mr Donald Rumsfeld. Good job on the war dude. You and George are geniuses. We'll miss you "rummy". We're hoping Bob Gates does an even better job and we know he will, I mean he is an old family buddy of GB's. That's a good thing right?
