its amazing how 3 weeks can seem to be years, but thinking back it makes sense because we just did so much in that short time. it started in california, where we flew in from vancouver. then we did some driving. after that there was flying, then driving again. the following day we drove, then drove again to the airport for some flying.
flying into atlanta, we drove, then flew. then we were flying overseas. we did play some shows in between, i know because they were the highlights of that week. alot of the shows were festivals, and there were so many people and cool bands. i was thrown off a bit by the fact that you dont get soundchecks at these festivals, and i m saying this not because i m a spoiled brat or ungrateful, but because we had just toured with the killers and were allowed to use their soundsystem, which was the same one god himself uses when touring around the larger theatres and venues. so it was awesome to have that very stage sound back in london when we got to open two shows for weezer.
we also got to travel to the kingdoms of sweden and spain, play in amsterdam (now my favorite city in the world), check out paris for a few hours during a thunderstorm, play hyde park in the rain alongside moby and fischerspooner, and fly to new york to play in central park. all packed into 18 days.
you could not even imagine what it took to make that happen. i saw craigs (tour manager/soundman) head melt on more than one occasion. but i think we all made it, and people we met along the way were so nice to us and treated us well, so i hope we can go back and do it all again.
