We're back in the pods!

My friend Dan thought my outlook recently on bus life was a little bleak but that's just how I cope with carrying the burden of the world's problems on my shoulders. Since last tour and this one though I've managed to shed that burden. Here's how. Distract yourself with movie after movie after new HBO series out on DVD. For instance when we get a little down on the road because we havent showered in days we put on season one or two of The Office. Even though we're all happy right now opening for the Killers we still watch The Office over and over. I think we're on rotation four, that's how addicted we've become to the pain.

Sugar is good as well. Keep yourself constantly hopped up on sugar and any famine, poverty or wrong-doing in the world just seems like a neat video game or potential plot for a new Hollywood movie. Oops that's me getting a little cynical, sorry I need to sneak a hug or cuddle from one of our entourage. Ted and Craig (our wonderful tour manager/sound guy/polite lad/deep sleeper) are easy targets. Nick (management or as we like to call him and his "partner" Piers...manamoms) practically begs me for hugs. Emy (merchandise/activism), very huggable. Sara? She's slowly giving in to my spooning advances. Tegan. Oh Tegan. She has to be a wee bit liquored for her to accept my warm and enthusiastic bear hugs. Even then she accepts them with a look of suffocating panic on her face.

Then there's Ronny, the fantastic drummer from the Killers. Even though he hasnt offered any hugs he has offered heaps of friendliness and charm. He comes on our bus after shows and is able to hold the floor with his story-telling so well that even champion tag team talkers Tegan and Sara are left speechless. Amazing.

More on the Killers tour and other fun, sunny, happiness to come.

How was that Dan? Choc-a-Bloc full of positivitey wasnt it?
